Birthing Doula

In this service I would include:

• 24 hour on call service for 2 weeks prior to the due date and 2 weeks after the due date
• 2 antenatal visits to discuss the birth plan, talk about previous births and what the mother's ideal birth experience would be. This is also a time to get to know each other and to meet partners or any other person who you may want at the birth.
• I would be with the mother as a continuous support during labour making sure she had all that she needed and keeping her and her partner informed of any procedures that they may not be familiar with.
• 2 Postnatal visits to discuss the birth and the mother's and partner's feelings surrounding it. To make sure there are no problems feeding the baby whichever method has been chosen. To ensure that the mother feels well and is being looked after.

Fee for this package £350 plus 40p per mile travel expenses any distance further than 10 miles.

Any additional visits required would be at a charge of £10 per hour plus travel expenses at 40p per mile any distance further than 10 miles

Please Note: In exceptional cases this fee maybe reduced or waived. For example, the family's only income is receipt of state benefits such as Income Support, Family Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit. Doula UK operates a Hardship fund to enable us to care for all who need it.
